Wealth Impact Partners is privileged to engage with a number of outstanding non-profit service providers in our region and around the world. We invite you to learn more about the life-changing work they perform with compassion and excellence.

The San Miguel School of Providence is an independent Lasallian middle school for urban boys from the Greater Providence area. The school is dedicated to the belief that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Teachers Training Teachers provides professional and effective teacher training for Haitian educators. The training is provided through modules that are delivered in six sequenced seminars. All adhere to the curriculum published by Haiti’s National Ministry of Education.

The Equitarian Initiative is a group of equine veterinarians and caregivers who provide education, leadership and assistance to the working equid and by extension their families. A working equid is defined as a horse, mule or donkey that is used primarily for family income, agriculture and/or transportation. It is estimated that there are 100 million working equids in the developing world.

Community Preparatory School gives motivated students in grades 3-8 the opportunity to reach for their dreams, regardless of family income. Community Prep offers all the benefits of an independent school – small classes, challenging academics, and a positive, nurturing environment – combined with the cultural and economic diversity of a public school.

You’ve been given the gift of influence within your sphere, a platform – large or small – in which people are depending on you to move them to a better place. Learning how to maximize the positive impact of your influence is what leadership development is all about. For more than a decade, the Global Leadership Summit has helped transform leaders around the world with an injection of vision, skill development, and inspiration through the involvement of local churches.
STORY CORNER
Learn how these individuals and families transformed their lives by doing more that matters. Some people’s efforts have impacted thousands of lives, but, in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” We invite you to share a story about you or someone you know who is doing more that matters.

Living the Dream and Making it Matter
Dr. Jay Merriam, DVM, and his wife Shelly relocated to Colorado to be nearer to their children and grandchildren and purchased a home in a wonderful mountain community there. Jay is devoting his time and equine veterinarian expertise to helping families in developing countries care for their working equids – horses, mules, and donkeys. These animals are essential to their owners’ livelihood as they fulfill agricultural, commerce, or transportation purposes. The Merriam’s story is a powerful example of how “retirement” is being redefined.

The Surprise Family Charity
Mike and Julie* own a local engineering firm that designs, manufactures, and consults on highly specialized equipment. Their goal was to build a plan that could allow them to pull away from their company in the years to come, “retiring” without having to depend on the business as their primary financial resource.
Beyond harvesting liquidity, we helped them think bigger about their legacy planning. After seeing the math, Mike got highly energized in our office one day with the idea of setting up their own family charity. As the light bulb turned on around this new possibility, the couple began laying out plans to focus on their lifelong passion for teaching and coaching.

Two Men Who Listened To Their Hearts
In the midst of ongoing efforts to improve public school education in Providence, RI – and throughout the nation – two men have quietly and persistently dedicated themselves to creating new models that epitomize both sacrifice and success.
Brother Lawrence Goyette is the founder and executive director of the San Miguel School, an independent, Lasallian middle school for urban boys of all cultures and faiths from the Greater Providence area.
Dan Corley is the founder and head of school at Community Preparatory School, focused on students from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds, particularly those who otherwise would not have access to such a rigorous, private education. With compelling visions and inspiring leadership, each of these men has directly impacted thousands of students and their families – transforming their lives and futures.
If you or someone you know is doing more that matters, we invite you to share your story so that you might inspire others.
